We will convene, through an application process, some of the best innovators in the Bay Area (and beyond, people fly in for these events!) - Technical and nontechnical techies at the forefront of new technologies like AI, Virtual and Augmented Reality, 3D Printing, Drones, and more will team up to develop solutions based on the Project Prompts.
At the start of the event, 5-10 cause area experts and leaders will present the current challenges on some of their biggest projects. They’ll describe their goals, the hurdles they face, and ask the innovators to help them find solutions. Projects will be focused on big picture, needle moving projects for these organizations at the frontlines.
The innovative solutions and outcomes of the hackathon depend heavily on prompts offered at the start. It will be critical to have the right organizations involved so we can solve their problems and create real impact.
The judging panel will consist of leaders in Bay Area Policy, Tech, and Nonprofits bringing together a diverse range of perspectives to evaluate the teams' solutions. Their combined expertise will ensure that the final winners are those whose innovative solutions demonstrate the greatest potential for making a positive impact on the challenges facing the Bay Area.
